Curio Shelf is an independent guide site that researches everyday products and explains what’s worth buying, and what isn’t. We follow the evidence first, then write the guide.

I started Curio Shelf because I like working out which everyday things are actually worth the money, and I wanted somewhere to write down what I find.

How we research

Most guides here are research-based. We compare specifications, features and common trade-offs, and we explain what to check before you buy. We say plainly when we haven’t tried a product ourselves.

What we leave out

We don’t show prices, because they change often. We don’t copy retailer photos or descriptions. We try to name a product’s drawbacks as well as its strengths.
